Almost any blues guitarist will tell you that the lessons you learn on your own are the best blues guitar lessons and while this may not seem very fair it is, unfortunately, very true. But if you are picking up the guitar for the first time there are some basic blues guitar lessons that you can take that will help you understand your guitar and what it means to play certain things in certain places. Beginner blues guitar lessons are the only kind of blues guitar lessons I have ever heard of because advanced blues guitar lessons come with years of experience and realizing the ability to channel your feelings and the things you are picturing in your head down into your guitar and out your amplifier. Beginner blues guitar lessons, however, are very important to getting you started and helping you to understand your way around the fret board and to know why certain things work together and why certain things do not work together. It is a process that will allow you to create a strong foundation for your future playing and you can take beginner blues guitar lessons at any music store or music school you can find.
The first thing they will teach you in blues guitar lessons is to become familiar with your guitar. They will show you how to tune it, how to put new strings on it, what the different parts are and how all of those parts work together. Before you can get good at playing the blues you first need to become very familiar with your guitar because you cannot get it to do what you want it to do unless you know how it works first. Pay special attention to the part about tuning your guitar because, for some reason, many people seem to ignore that part of their blues guitar lessons and do not develop the ability to get their instrument in tune. Even when playing the blues it is necessary to be in tune or else everything comes out all wrong and that is just torture for other people to listen to. So take your time and learn how to tune and maintain your guitar properly before you start playing it.
Scales And Chords
There are literally thousands of guitar chords out there and they are all variations of the 7 basic major chords A, B, C, D, E, F, and G. When you take your blues guitar lessons they will teach you which chords are important to understanding the blues and then they will teach you how to make variations on chords and which fingers to move where to make a 7th or 9th chord variation. This is all important stuff to know so pay attention.
One of the final things you will need to know about the blues is the blues scales for playing solos. There are only a few of these and they are moved around the fret board based on what key the song is in. So once you learn the major scales, and how to move them around the fret board, you should be all ready to go out and become your own blues guitarist.
